Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) is among the top trends in digital marketing right now. With everybody doing SEO, this is the next logical way to get ahead of your competitors.

We’ve taken a look at a few tools like Neil Patel’s Crazy Egg and Funnelytics that do a pretty solid job of helping you optimize and capture new opportunities.

PageSense is yet another great software marketing suite from Zoho. This time they’ve laser-focused on important metrics for conversion.

And starting at $17/month, it’s pretty affordable even compared to Crazy Egg. So, what’s the deal with CRO? Is it something you need to invest in? And is Zoho Page Sense worth it?

Discover what you need to know in this comprehensive Zoho PageSense review.

What Is Zoho PageSense?

The better question, to begin with, is what conversion rate optimization (CRO) is. Understanding this will lead to whether or not PageSense is the right option for you.

If you have gotten your site up to the highest SEO standards, you better start here first. CRO is the next logical step.

It’s looking at the more nuanced aspects of your digital marketing approach to figure out where potential customers drop out of the funnel.

This includes tools like heat maps, funnel analysis, and other insights to identify and fix user experience and other issues.

Zoho PageSense Business Goals

Zoho PageSense combines both CRO and A/B testing to increase your conversion through easy to measure goals, analytics, session recordings, and experiments.

Using this data, you can then re-design and optimize your website to ensure the right element, format, and layout to improve your site’s efficiency.

How To Use Zoho PageSense

Like other Zoho products, we love that PageSense is incredibly straightforward to use. This is something any marketer can easily add into their toolbelt, and even a good number of small business owners could figure out how to use it effectively.

Zoho includes a free trial that we highly recommend you check out. From here, it walks you through the account setup.

Zoho PageSense Setup

The only slightly difficult part will be installing the code snippet on your site. If you’ve used form builders or email marketing tools like MailerLite before, this will feel familiar. You’ll copy and paste the code and integrate it into your site.

Don’t worry; if this all sounds like a foreign language, they walk you through how to do it. Or you can just email it to your website designer.

This is a good test, though, if doing CRO yourself is right for you. If you can’t manage the code snippet, you’ll have trouble implementing the necessary changes and might want to invest in a freelance marketer or a dedicated team member.

Zoho PageSense Pricing

Compared to other CRO tools, PageSense starts at Standard pricing of $17/month for up to 10,000 Monthly Visitors.

Pricing is largely based on the number of visitors you have and the number of projects.

The Standard Plan includes up to three projects—one site counts as a project. So, it’s actually very reasonably priced for freelance marketers managing a few different clients, especially the mid-tier Professional plan from $79/month and 5 projects.

Zoho PageSense Features

Like sister products Zoho Assist, Zoho Projects, Zoho Backstage, and Zoho Social, Zoho PageSense packs quite a punch for its price.

Here are just a few of the feature that it includes:

1. PageSense Funnel Analysis

You can track your website’s funnel from start to finish to see where people are dropping off.

For example, if you’re an e-commerce, you might have great traffic until checkout since people want to see how much shipping will cost them. You can watch this process and then find ways to give them added value, such as free shipping or gift with purchase.

2. Heat Maps

Heat maps give you a look into how customers behave. You can see which sections of your site are hot (get the most activity) and cold (get the least). The result is more informed decision decisions to increase the value of these hot places while experimenting with ways to improve “heat” in the cold.

3. A/B Testing

A/B Testing is a critical part of every marketer’s playbook. With Zoho Page Sense, you can experiment with different layouts and formats and put them against each other. The result is finely tuning and optimizing every aspect of your site to be as good as it can be.

4. Session Recording

This is another cool one. Session recording shows you exactly how visitors are interacting with your site. You can see which pages they visit, how they scroll, and when they decide to abandon or convert.

5. Integrations

Zoho PageSense extends its value through integrating with a variety of popular analytics and marketing tools. This includes Google Analytics and Google Ads to track conversions of custom audiences for your campaigns.

Who Should Use Zoho PageSense?

If you just read all this and had no idea what we are talking about, then PageSense likely isn’t for you.

Again, CRO is a later step in your marketing campaign. But there is a lot here to work with for small businesses trying to take the next step and get the competitive edge.

Some of these changes may seem small, but they add up and boil down to converting or abandoning the page.

Likewise, professional marketers will find Zoho to be an affordable complement to their existing toolset.

The only downside is there is a huge jump between the Zoho Professional and Enterprise plans, but at these prices, you could just have two Professional Plans if you’re managing more than five clients.

Is Zoho PageSense Worth It?

There are some marketers who swear that CRO really is the next SEO. This could be true. But if your site is already sparkling with great content and functionality, the ROI you get on CRO may be limited.

Still, it’s worth doing a little experimenting, and between the free trial and affordable plan, PageSense is definitely worth it for that.

Once you do get everything super optimized, that may be when you decide it’s not worth the monthly price. But if your site is always growing, then you will want to constantly be running these experiments.

And if it leads to even just one more conversion each month, hasn’t it already paid for itself? You’ll have to answer that one!

Pros

  • Easy setup process
  • User friendly
  • Good for people new to CRO
  • Wide suite of tools
  • Solid array of integrations
  • Affordable for both small business and freelance marketers

Cons

  • Not as feature-rich as some of the competition
  • Support team doesn’t have the best reviews, so be prepared to solve any issues yourself

Zoho PageSense Alternatives

If you’re a CRO enthusiast, then you’ve definitely already checked out HotJar. For that reason, we’d rather spend a little time talking about Neil Patel’s Crazy Egg Instead.

PageSense Vs. Crazy Egg

Crazy Egg

The competition between legendary marketer Neil Patel and Zoho, for who has the biggest offering of affordable and effective software tools, is pretty intense. Neil Patel also has Ubersuggest and Hello Bar under his belt.

Crazy Egg is a little more widely known and does offer a great array of additional tools like overlays and a site editor directly built-in. It’s also affordable, starting with plans starting at $24 and up to 30,000 visitors putting at a similar price as Crazy Egg.

They’re both great. If you want something a little more streamlined, then go with PageSense, but if you’re ready for more, then don’t miss Crazy Egg.
